Queen Elizabeth’s Birthday

In honor of Queen Elizabeth’s 90th Birthday celebration this week, I have chosen to share one of my favorite tea sets which is from England, of course. I wanted to display something in her favorite color which is reported to be blue.

The tea set displays nicely on this vintage tea cloth which has an embroidered and tinted teapot in the corner. Perfect for this week. Here is a close up.

The maker of this fine china is Paragon. The pattern is “Petit Fleurs.” I estimate it to be circa 1960s.

I love the classic lines and shape of the teapot which holds six cups.

What fun for those who were able to participate in her celebration. Photo from the internet.

This week, I share my simple English post with Antiques and Teacups (who wrote an over-the-top Queen Elizabeth post), Bernideen’s (includes “Tea in the Garden“), Martha’s Favorites and Rose Chintz Cottage.

Visiting England is on my bucket list. How about you if you never have been?

Have a good week,

  1. The vintage tea cloth is just darling with the crochet trim and little teapot on it. Your Paragon tea set is beautiful. Love the dainty blue flowers on it and its shape is very elegant. Lovely post and thank you for sharing.

  2. Dear Jill:
I hope you posted this at my “Tea In The Garden” blog party too! I love your teaset and what is more wonderful than Paragon by Appointment to the QUEEN? Your embroidered tablecloth sure caught my eye as I love them so! Thanks for sharing and linking here. Your post was wonderful!

    • Hi Bernideen, We most definitely have the same taste. Very clever observation on the QUEEN. Thank you for the invite to your ‘Tea in the Garden.’

  3. Hi Jill. I just love your Paragon teaset…just lovely! And the embroidered tablecloth is wonderful. As a stitcher like me, I know we appreciate all the time that went into something like that! Thanks for the mention, and for linking to Tuesday Cuppa Tea!

    • Ruth, I am delighted that you admire my Paragon. It is so British. I treasure my teapot teacloth. I embroider, but do not know how to tint. Thank you for sharing the Queen’s birthday or I may have missed it as I do not watch much television.

    • Thank you for the honor, Bernideen. What fun to be amongst awesome tea bloggers who I have admired for a long time. Truly, I can’t hold a candle to the others. >

  4. I admire your gorgeous tea set, also the vintage tablecloth. Embrioderie and collecting tea cups is a pasion of mine, i think we have the same taste.
Thank you very much for visiting my blog. Have a wonderful week.
    Geetings from Germany, Carmen
