Tea and Lunch

Two weeks ago (coincidentally on a Tuesday) we drove to Ohio to attend a Spring Quilt Show at Sauder Village in the town Archbold.

On the return drive home, the GPS routed us through the town of Adrian, Michigan.  To my delight there is a lovely tea establishment, Governor Croswell Tea Room.

We arrived a bit prior to closing (due to my dilly dallying at the quilt show), but the waitress kindly served us anyway.  Phew.  The tea room was beautiful, and I would have been disappointed not to have had a cup of tea.

On this particular Tuesday, the soup was homemade cream of chicken ~ delicious.  My sandwich was chicken salad on puff pastry ~ rich.  The small bowl of vegetables (looks like celery) was actually individually prepared cucumbers in a light vinegar dressing ~ cool and refreshing.

I happy to be back blogging about tea again.  This week I am linking with Antiques and Teacups, Bernideen’s Tea Blog and Rose Chintz Cottage.  This Saturday, May 14, I am delighted to join Bernideen’s post “Tea in the Garden.”

    • You also may enjoy quilts and linens. Most definitely, I was in ‘the zone’ on a Spring Tuesday when I could enjoy quilts and tea. The time flew by and I could have done it all over again the next day. >

  3. Dear Jill:
First of all, I am so happy to have you participate and would love to see you also share this at my “Tea In The Garden” blog party today. It is all about tea and some post at both of these parties – the same post. Your visit to the tea room was sure delightful and I thought the place and food were lovely! You had a wonderful day with Quilts and TEA! Thanks for sharing and linking your adventure.

  4. Jill,
First of all – I love the layout and look of your blog – it is perfect! Your visit to the tea room made me jealous! The closeup of your plate is just beautiful and the food looks like it was scrumptious – thanks for posting!

    • Thank you Denise for the lovely compliment on my blog layout. I fooled around with a bit. The tea lunch was a bit rushed due to our late arrival so don’t be too envious. I look forward to returning for a leisurely and relaxing tea.

  5. What a lovely place you visited for tea, Jill! The food looks delish, and I know you are thankful that you stopped there. I’m visiting from Bernideen’s Tea in the Garden.
